Description: The organic essential oil of Vetiver from Madagascar is obtained through steam distillation from the root of Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty (Syn: Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash).

Special Characteristics: The organic essential oil of Vetiver from Madagascar is a thick liquid with a brown to red color and an earthy, woody, smoky aroma.

Applications: The organic essential oil of Vetiver is known as the “oil of tranquility.” In aromatherapy, it is used for its properties as an antibacterial, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, anxiolytic, circulatory stimulant, deodorant, sedative, sympathetic nervous system stimulant, and tonic. In cosmetics, it is often used in creams that provide relief from arthritis/rheumatic pains when mixed with other therapeutic essential oils of the same category.

CAUTION: Always use diluted in a carrier oil or other solvent.
