The essential oil is easily soluble in alcohol (1:2 ethanol 70%), vegetable oils, and other essential oils. It is almost insoluble in water. The main component with a concentration of up to 95% is eugenol. Methyl eugenol is also included in low concentration. In contrast to Clove oil, organic essential Clove oil (from buds) does not contain eugenyl acetate.
