Description

**Description:** Neroli essential oil is obtained through steam distillation from the flowers of bitter orange (Citrus aurantium var. amara). The steam of hot water is used as a carrier for the volatile organic compounds. Due to the immiscibility of organic compounds with water, the phases separate easily upon cooling, allowing for easy separation of the essential oil.

**Special Characteristics:** Neroli essential oil is a yellow liquid that can turn reddish-brown upon exposure to light, sometimes presenting a slight bluish fluorescence. It has a strong, fresh, and floral aroma, with characteristic citrus notes. It is easily soluble in alcohol (ethanol 80%), vegetable oils, and other essential oils, while it is almost insoluble in water. The main component of neroli essential oil is linalool.

**Use in Food Industry:** Generally, it is not used in the preparation of food and beverages.

**Use in the Cosmetics Industry:** Neroli essential oil has antibacterial properties and is used in aromatherapy products to reduce anxiety and depression. It is both strengthening and calming and is recommended for cases of mental exhaustion or shock.

**CAUTION:** ALWAYS use diluted in a carrier oil or other solvent.
