Description: Organic citronella essential oil is obtained from the leaves of Maha Pengiri (citronella grass, Cymbopogon winterianus) through steam distillation. The yield of essential oil from the plant mass ranges between 0.5 and 1.2%.

Special Characteristics: Organic citronella essential oil is a yellow liquid. It has a strong characteristic bitter scent, accompanied by a pronounced lemon aroma. The essential oil easily dissolves in alcohol (1:2 ethanol), vegetable oils, and other essential oils. It is almost insoluble in water. The main components of organic citronella essential oil are geraniol, citronellal, limonene, and citronellol. In smaller quantities, it also contains borneol, geranyl acetate, methyl eugenol, and linalool.

Applications: The components of organic citronella essential oil have some medicinal properties. For a long time, the oil and parts of the plant have been used as a treatment for fever, intestinal parasites, digestive, and menstrual problems in Asia.
