Description: Organic Spirulina is a single-celled, blue-green algae belonging to the cyanobacteria genus. The green color of organic Spirulina powder is due to chlorophyll, while the blue comes from phycocyanin. It has a similar aroma and taste to seaweed. It is a complete food, rich in various nutrients, and is therefore characterized as a superfood.
Special Features: The protein content of organic Spirulina powder reaches up to 70% and provides all essential amino acids (Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Valine) in high concentration. It also contains a wide range of B-complex vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, high concentration of B12) and the antioxidant provitamin A (beta-carotene). Organic Spirulina includes essential polyunsaturated fatty acids such as gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), and sulfolipids, as well as minerals/traces like calcium (Ca), iron (Fe), and magnesium (Mg).
Application in Food: Organic Spirulina has antioxidant properties due to its content of antioxidants such as phycocyanin, carotenoids, and xanthophylls. It enhances cardiac function by reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglyceride (TG) levels while increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in the blood. It stimulates the “good flora” in the intestine, contributing to its proper function, and boosts the immune system. Organic Spirulina helps control weight by suppressing appetite, improving energy levels, reducing fatigue, and stress. It is widely used by vegetarians due to its high nutritional content, especially in protein.
It can be easily dissolved in various fruit juices or plain water to produce smoothies and can be added to yogurt, ice cream, combined with fruits, or mixed with dried fruits and nuts.
No iodine content.
