**Description:** Black Pepper essential oil is obtained from the crushed fruit of the pepper plant (Piper nigrum) through the process of steam distillation. The yield of essential oil from the plant mass ranges between 1 and 2.6%.

**Special Characteristics:** Black Pepper essential oil is a colorless to yellow-green, sometimes blue-green liquid. It has a warm, spicy, and characteristic peppery aroma. The essential oil easily dissolves in alcohol (1:3 ethanol 95%), vegetable oils, and other essential oils. It is almost insoluble in water. The main components of Black Pepper essential oil are isomeric pinene and limonene.

**Cosmetic Applications:** In natural medicine, Black Pepper essential oil is used as a natural analgesic. It is said to provide relief from toothaches and muscle pains when used as a mouthwash, rubbed on, applied in ointments, or used in baths.
