Description
Description: Organic Cedarwood essential oil is obtained from the wood of Cedrus atlantica (Endl.) G.Manetti ex Carriere through the process of steam distillation.
Special Characteristics: Organic Cedarwood essential oil is a yellow to orange liquid. Its scent is described as characteristic, spicy, warm, and woody. Key components include cedrol, alpha-cedrene, beta-cedrene, and the component that defines its scent, atlantone.
Applications: The components of Cedarwood essential oil also have medicinal properties. Ancient Egyptians used it for embalming the dead, and its medicinal properties were later discovered in the 19th century. Today, it is applied as an ointment, poultice, bath oil, or massage oil.
Cedarwood essential oil is used in cosmetics as an aromatic ingredient to achieve a woody, warm, and fresh hue in fragrance production. It is also commonly used in scenting soaps and similar products. Cedarwood essential oil blends well with basil, bergamot, geranium, jasmine, lavender, neroli, palmarosa, rose, rosemary, and thyme.
In aromatherapy, Cedarwood essential oil is used in aromatic candles or as an additive in bath oils or massage oils.
Caution: ALWAYS use diluted in a carrier oil or other solvent.
