Description
Description: Organic Lavandin essential oil is obtained from the fresh flowers of Lavandula hybrida through steam distillation. The yield of essential oil from the plant material ranges between 1 and 2.5%.
Special Characteristics: Organic Lavandin essential oil is a yellowish liquid. It has a characteristic fresh and floral scent. Its main components are linalool, pinene isomers, and linalyl acetate. Geraniol is present in smaller quantities.
Applications: Organic Lavandin essential oil is said to have antimicrobial properties, which explains its use in some cleansers. Similar to Lavender essential oil, which is said to have stronger calming properties, Lavandin essential oil is also said to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin and respiratory tract. Organic Lavandin essential oil helps with colds, inflammatory skin conditions, and minor wounds.
In the cosmetics industry, organic Lavandin essential oil plays a role in the production of fragrances, soaps, and skincare and hair care products. It is also often found in aromatic sticks or candles. Its use as a “laundry scent” is widespread as it combines pleasantness with utility. Clothes acquire a pleasant aroma while also repelling moths. Additionally, due to its anti-inflammatory properties, organic Lavandin essential oil can be added to skincare products for irritated, inflamed, or acne-prone skin.
CAUTION: ALWAYS use diluted in a base oil or other solvent.
