**Description:** Organic Ylang-Ylang essential oil is obtained from the flowers of the Cananga odorata tree through steam distillation. The yield of essential oil from the plant material ranges from 1.5% to 2.5%.

**Special Characteristics:** Organic Ylang-Ylang essential oil is a colorless to yellow liquid with a characteristic floral scent accompanied by light woody notes. It dissolves easily in carrier oils and other essential oils but only partially in ethanol. It is almost insoluble in water. The main constituents include benzyl benzoate, benzyl salicylate, linalool, farnesol, and geraniol. Phenolic compounds such as methyl eugenol and estragole are present in smaller concentrations.

**Applications:** Organic Ylang-Ylang essential oil is said to have relaxing and slightly sedative effects, which is why it is used in alternative medicine for heart-related issues. It also relieves pain and is added to headache and muscle pain relief ointments.
